Designed to give you a flamenco feel with a warmer tone, Cordoba’s Luthier Series GK Pro Negra is a hybrid classical/electric guitar sporting a single-cutaway thinbody design and a nut-width narrower than standard classical models. These features promote playability, especially across high frets.
Complementing its solid European spruce top, the GK Pro Negra boasts solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, engendering a richer, more robust timbre—one that stands in contrast with the often brighter sound of flamenco guitars. An Indian rosewood bridge anchors strings to the body, and throughout the instrument you’ll find many flourishes pleasing to the eye, including Indian rosewood binding, a pearloid rosette inspired by a 1920s Esteso design, 6-ply colored-wood top purfling, and 3-ply maple and ebony purfling throughout the back and sides of the guitar.
A mahogany neck provides a 25.6” scale, an ebony fingerboard, and 19 frets. To ensure your neck stays straight, the neck’s 4mm truss rod has been made easily accessible. A bone nut is employed to bolster sustain and resonance on open strings. At the headstock, you’ll find Cordoba Premium Gold Tuning Machines with black, ebony-style buttons. These machines sport a gear ratio of 14:1 for precise tuning, giving you a string-roller spacing of 35mm.
For electronics, this instrument is outfitted with a Fishman Prefix Pro Blend preamp system, an undersaddle piezo pickup, and an internal microphone. Controls are provided for bass, middle, and treble, as are a notch filter for eliminating feedback, a phase switch, frequency and contour knobs, and a blend control to balance the internal microphone with the pickup. A Cordoba humidified archtop case is included with the instrument, ensuring that your instrument will stay protected from harsh interior conditions when not in use.
