The C480 B Combo Reference Modular Condenser Microphone consists of the C480 B power module and CK61 ULS cardioid element. The CK61 element features a linear frequency response and cardioid polar pattern, offering directional pickup and suppression of off-axis ambient signals. The CK61 is designed for use with ambient and live sound recording and reinforcement, as well as studio recording. There are gold-plated connector pins for a high resistance to humidity and temperature extremes and an included W32 windscreen. The C480 B power module supplies 48V of phantom power, switchable attenuation, and low-cut roll-off for minimizing low-frequency noise and rumble. It is suitable for use with vocal and general instrument capturing in recording or sound reinforcement applications.

The C480 B Combo is a combination of the C480 B pre-amp and the CK61 ULS capsule. It offers excellent audio quality and maximum flexibility. The electronic circuitry of the C480B comes with a transformerless output stage and assures completely linear transfer characteristics across the entire frequency range, while achieving self-noise figures close to the theoretical minimum. The CK61 capsule is characterized by a ruler-flat frequency response and an unmatchably consistent cardioid polar pattern. It is the ideal choice for critical recording and live-sound applications where consistent suppression of off-axis sound is an important requirement. The CK61 ULS is widely used in broadcast and recording studios as well as on stages worldwide.
