PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The PCC170 from Crown Audio is a half-supercardioid boundary microphone designed for use in conferences, boardrooms, courtrooms, etc. The supercardioid polar pattern provides a highly directional pickup, minimizing noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the microphone. A wide frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz accentuates the midrange frequencies associated with the human voice while minimizing low-frequency noise. A "bass tilt" switch further eliminates low-frequency hum and noise. The microphone is powered via a 12 to 48V phantom power source, such as a Crown PH-1A or PH-4B power supply.

Super-Cardioid Polar Pattern

The super-cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing noise at the off-axis sections of the microphone, providing high gain before feedback and pickup at long range.

Phase Coherent Pickup

Although mounted on a surface, direct and reflected signals are reproduced in phase.

Wide Frequency Response

The 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response accentuates frequencies associated with the voice while minimizing low-frequency noise.

Bass Tilt Switch

A bass tilt switch further minimizes noise born at low frequencies.

The PCC170 and the PCC170 SW are professional boundary layer microphones with a supercardioid polar pattern to minimize background noise and feedback. The microphones are designed for use on boardroom tables or lecterns. Both microphones provide a bass-tilt switch, allowing the user to tailor the low-end response and reduce subsonic noise. The included RFI suppression ensures trouble-free operation even with active cell phones nearby.

The PCC170 SW has a silent-operating programmable membrane switch that can be configured for touch on/off, momentary on or momentary off. For easy installation, both microphones offer an XLR connector and a detachable cable.
