The Beta-6A 6-1/2" midbass/midrange from Eminence is the evolution of the vaunted Alpha-6 driver series. With the Beta-6A, Eminence has increased the voice coil from 1.5" to 2" for increased power handling, while a strong magnet and motor system keeps the sensitivity high.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Beta-6A 6-1/2" midbass/midrange from Eminence is the evolution of the vaunted Alpha-6 driver series. With the Beta-6A, Eminence has increased the voice coil from 1.5" to 2" for increased power handling, while a strong magnet and motor system keeps the sensitivity high.
In addition to a larger diameter voice coil, Xmax has been increased to 4.5 mm and allows for lower usable frequency response. Additionally, a vented pole piece allows heat to escape for reduced power compression. The paper cone and dust cap have been treated for water-resistance, which is perfect for when the Beta-6A is used outdoors for live sound and in high SPL car audio systems.
