Cisco CW9162I-B Catalyst 9162I Wi-Fi 6E Tri-Band 2x2 Indoor Access Point

The Cisco Catalyst 9162I provides tri-band wireless connectivity across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. Wi-Fi 6E expands wireless connectivity by providing compatible client devices with access to additional 6 GHz spectrum.

The CW9162I-B uses three 2x2 radios and supports modern wireless technologies such as OFDMA and MU-MIMO. This architecture is designed to efficiently serve multiple wireless clients in enterprise indoor environments.

The CW9162I-B includes a 100M/1000M/2.5G Multigigabit RJ-45 Ethernet interface. The 2.5G uplink provides increased wired network capacity for Wi-Fi 6E deployments where wireless traffic can exceed the capabilities of traditional Gigabit Ethernet.

The CW9162I-B uses Wi-Fi 6E technologies including Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) and MU-MIMO to improve wireless efficiency in environments with multiple connected devices.

OFDMA allows wireless resources to be scheduled efficiently among clients, while MU-MIMO enables simultaneous communication with multiple supported client devices.

The Cisco CW9162I-B supports 802.3af PoE, 802.3at PoE+, and 802.3bt Cisco UPOE. PoE+ and UPOE can provide the power required for the supported 2x2 radio configuration, 2.5G Ethernet connectivity, and USB operation.

A 12V DC power input is also supported. With its compact 200 × 200 mm form factor and integrated antenna design, the access point is suitable for ceiling and other indoor enterprise installations.
