The Cisco Wireless 9179F is engineered to provide reliable, high-capacity wireless connectivity where large numbers of users and devices need simultaneous access. Built around IEEE 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 technology, the access point supports advanced features including 4096-QAM, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), OFDMA, preamble puncturing, Target Wake Time (TWT), BSS Coloring, and Multi-Radio Coordination.

The platform supports a flexible tri-radio or quad-radio architecture. In its maximum quad-radio configuration, the CW9179F can deliver up to 24 Gbps aggregate PHY rate, making it suitable for demanding high-density wireless environments.

Advanced Wi-Fi 7 Wireless Architecture

The CW9179F uses a high-capacity multi-radio architecture designed to efficiently serve large numbers of wireless clients. It supports 4x4 MU-MIMO on the 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz radios and dual 4x4 radio operation on the 5 GHz band.

The access point supports up to four spatial streams per serving radio. Depending on the selected radio configuration, the platform can operate in tri-radio or quad-radio mode to balance wireless capacity, spectrum availability, and deployment requirements.

Indoor and Outdoor Deployment Flexibility

The Cisco Wireless 9179F is designed for demanding large-venue deployments and can be deployed in suitable indoor or outdoor environments. Its ruggedized physical design and wide operating temperature range support installations where conventional indoor access points may not be suitable.

Outdoor 6 GHz deployment: Outdoor 6 GHz operation requires the applicable Cisco environment accessory pack CW-ACC-9179-B-00. Country-specific regulatory requirements and deployment configuration must also be observed.

Enterprise Wireless Management

The CW9179F operates with Cisco IOS XE software and can be managed through Cisco enterprise wireless infrastructure. It supports Cisco Catalyst 9800 physical and virtual wireless controllers and Cisco Catalyst 9000 Embedded Wireless Controller deployments in SDA environments.
