Cisco FPR4115-NGFW-K9 combines high-speed firewall processing with advanced application visibility, intrusion prevention, VPN security and threat-defense capabilities. The appliance supports Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) software and can also support Cisco Secure Firewall ASA software, providing flexible deployment options for enterprise security architectures.

High-Speed Network Connectivity

The Cisco FPR4115-NGFW-K9 provides eight fixed 1-Gigabit and 10-Gigabit SFP+ interfaces. These ports can be used for high-speed fiber network connections between the firewall, core switches, aggregation infrastructure, WAN edge and data center networks.

Two additional network-module bays provide flexible expansion. Depending on the installed network modules, the platform can support 1G, 10G, 40G and 100G interfaces, allowing the firewall infrastructure to scale with changing bandwidth requirements.

Advanced Firewall Performance

The Firepower 4115 is designed for high-throughput security inspection in enterprise and data center environments. Cisco specifies up to 33 Gbps throughput for Firewall plus Application Visibility and Control, with IPS enabled at 1024-byte traffic conditions.

Advanced Threat Protection

When deployed with Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense, the FPR4115 provides security capabilities designed to identify, inspect and control network traffic. Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense

The FPR4115-NGFW-K9 can operate with Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense, providing an integrated software platform for next-generation firewall security. FTD combines firewall functionality with application control, intrusion prevention, VPN and security intelligence capabilities.

Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense can be centrally managed using Cisco security management solutions, helping administrators configure policies, monitor security events, investigate threats and maintain consistent security controls across distributed environments.

Flexible Network Module Expansion

Two network-module bays allow organizations to expand the connectivity of the Firepower 4115 according to deployment requirements. Cisco Firepower 4100 Series network modules support combinations of 1G, 10G, 40G and 100G interfaces, subject to the selected module and supported configuration.

Enterprise Connectivity and Management

In addition to the eight fixed SFP+ ports, the platform provides a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet management interface supporting 1-Gbps fiber or copper SFP connectivity. A Cisco RJ-45 serial console provides local administration, while a USB 2.0 Type-A interface is available for supported service and management functions.

Hardware and Storage

The FPR4115 is a 1U rack-mount security appliance with 192 GB of system memory. The hardware platform includes two SSD slots. The primary slot is populated with a 400 GB SSD for the logical device application instance, while the second slot can be used for the optional Malware Storage Pack where supported.

Cisco specifies six hot-swappable fans and supports redundant power configurations depending on the selected power-supply architecture.

Power and Reliability

The Cisco Firepower 4115 supports enterprise power and resiliency requirements with optional redundant power configurations. The platform supports 1100W AC power supplies and optional 950W DC power supplies, with 1+1 redundancy when configured with dual supplies.

Six hot-swappable fans help maintain airflow and thermal performance in continuously operating data center environments.
