The Eaton 5PX2200IRT2UG2 is a high‑performance Line‑Interactive UPS from Eaton’s Gen2 5PX series, designed to provide robust power protection and energy‑efficient operation for critical IT and networking equipment. Rated at 2200 VA / 2200 W, this unit delivers clean, reliable power with a pure sine wave output and a unity power factor (1.0), optimizing usable power for servers, storage, telecommunications systems, and industrial electronics. Its rack‑mount/tower (2U) form factor supports flexible deployment in data centres, racks, or stand‑alone installations.

Electrical Topology and Performance

This UPS employs Line‑Interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), helping maintain a steady output voltage in the face of input fluctuations without unnecessarily switching to battery power. It supports a wide input voltage range (approximately 160–294 V adjustable) and operates on mains frequencies from 47 Hz to 70 Hz, enhancing uptime even with unstable grid conditions. The standard connection is via an IEC C20 input, and outputs include (8) IEC C13 and (2) IEC C19 receptacles, facilitating simultaneous protection of multiple devices.

Battery System and Runtime Capabilities

Internally, the Eaton 5PX2200IRT2UG2 uses six user‑replaceable sealed lead‑acid batteries (12 V / 7 Ah), managed by Eaton’s ABM and temperature‑compensated charging technology to optimize battery health and prolong service life. Built‑in features include automatic battery tests, deep discharge protection, and automatic recognition of external battery units (EBMs), which allow the runtime to be extended by connecting up to four optional external battery packs. This modular approach enables customers to tailor backup duration to specific load and redundancy requirements.

For monitoring and control, this UPS includes USB (HID compliant) and serial (RS‑232) communication ports, along with mini‑terminal blocks for remote On/Off, Remote Power Off, and output relay interfacing. A multilingual graphical LCD display provides real‑time system status, load levels, and diagnostics on the front panel. One expansion slot is available for optional communication cards (e.g., network management, industrial interfaces) that integrate with Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Intelligent Power Protector software suites, enabling remote monitoring and orderly shutdown in virtualized and traditional environments.
