The Eaton 5SC1000I is a 1000 VA / 700 W line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) engineered to deliver reliable power continuity and protection for rack servers, networking hardware, storage devices, and other critical IT equipment. Designed in a 2U rackmount form factor, this UPS is ideal for small to medium business environments, data closets, and edge computing installations with limited space but high reliability requirements.

Power Protection Technology

At its core, the 5SC1000I uses line‑interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which helps stabilize incoming mains voltage fluctuations without drawing on the battery unless necessary. This reduces battery wear and improves overall UPS efficiency during undervoltage and overvoltage events. The unit delivers a pure sine‑wave output at 230 V nominal (adjustable to 220/230/240 V), supporting sensitive equipment with clean and dependable power formatting.

With a 0.7 output power factor, the system delivers 700 W of real usable power, making it suitable for critical rack servers, network switches, and storage equipment under moderate load.

Battery Backup & Runtime Estimates

The UPS integrates two sealed lead‑acid batteries (12 V/9 Ah) featuring Eaton’s Advanced Battery Management (ABM) technology, automatic battery testing, and deep‑discharge protection. Batteries are user‑replaceable and hot‑swappable, simplifying service without shutting down connected loads.

The multilingual LCD display provides real‑time power status, battery condition, load levels, and event alerts—enhancing on‑site diagnostics and status visibility.
